A lifetime love of real estate combined with the opportunity to work with his son, Will, drew William (“Woody”) A. Kerr, II to Halstead. Woody retired from The Bank of New York Mellon, where over a 33-year career he held senior management positions in client management, as the Head of Human Resources, and as Co-Chair and CAO of Europe while based in London. Now working in partnership with his son, Will, Woody offers clients a deep knowledge of New York City and its real estate market, outstanding business and financial acumen, seasoned negotiating skills, and a keen appreciation for confidentiality and discretion.
A graduate of Deerfield Academy and Hamilton College, Woody is passionate about New York City, which, other than his four years in London, has been home since 1979. He and his wife raised their two children on the Upper East Side, where they attended private schools (the Brick Church School followed by St. Bernard’s and Chapin). A cooperative apartment owner since 1993 and former longtime board member of their building in the East 80’s, Woody also has the unique perspective of having bought and combined an adjoining apartment in their building.
Outside of work, Woody enjoys playing golf and the guitar, listening to music and attending concerts of all types, traveling, reading and spending time with his family. He also serves on the board of a 501(c)(3) charity that assists Sandy survivors, as an Elder of the Brick Presbyterian Church on Park Avenue, and as the Co-Chair of the American Friends of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
